The Resort
Untreated wooden furniture in our rooms, scents of pine and cedar in the wellness area, home-made preserves made from sun-ripened organic fruit, a sustainable approach based on renewable resources, respect for foodstuffs, heating using biomass and electricity from water power: all these form the framework for our sustainable approach and for holidays spent at the Drumlerhof, your hotel in Sand in Taufers.
Harmony with nature is very important for the hotel owners. They use biomass for heating and the energy is produced by water power from the Ahrntal Valley. They are especially careful in the preparation of food, so they serve only seasonal and regional produce, if possible home-grown or local. Delicious produce from our farmers, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables from their own farm, the Signaterhof on the Ritten mountain, ensure the best quality.
Rooms
Every one of the 37 rooms has been differently designed by their architect and carpenter Zitturi, making each unique. High-quality materials combine to produce a harmonious atmosphere; some suites are equipped with Hästens beds to ensure you get a good night’s sleep.
All rooms, from 33 sqm, feature a spacious bathroom with shower and some with freestanding bathtub, free WiFi, hairdryer, telephone, SAT-TV, safe, minibar, balcony or terrace, some with four-poster bed, wooden furniture and floors.
From any faucet at Drumlerhof pure mountain Tauferer spring water is flowing. The high-quality water is an ideal thirst quencher.
Food and Beverages
The staff makes sure that their meals are prepared using mostly regional and seasonal products. Tehy ensure that their food is delivered from within a radius of less than 100 kilometres. In summer they grow their own fruit, herbs and vegetables, while they get cheese, berries, forest mushrooms and much more besides from their local farms.
Those with celiac disease can still have a relaxing, reinvigorating stay at the Drumlerhof: they are specialists in making an enjoyable experience of gluten-free holidays. The kitche staff prepares gluten-free fresh rolls, cakes and strudel each day, as well as pasta dishes and pizza and indeed whatever else you might fancy. They can of course also provide such meals lactose-free if required.
Activities
The "Zirm Spa" on the 3rd and 4th floor features a Finnish sauna with pine wood and a Finnish cedar sauna - both with large picture windows!
Sensitive professionals take care lovingly of your back, your skin and your soul. Exclusive massages with local oils and herbs and a variety of beauty and wellness treatments are available for selection.
If you enter the pool at Drumlerhof you actually feel close to heaven. From the large panoramic windows you enjoy a direct view of the imposing surrounding mountains of 3,000 m of altitude and more. Not only will this view let you feel as if in heaven, the relaxation that you will soon notice is heavenly too.
No matter which direction you look, from the jacuzzi on the roof terrace you enjoy a 360° view. The warm bubble water is ideal to fully relax after a long hike.
Especially in winter after an exciting day on the snow or in summer after a demanding tour in the mountains, the heat of the sauna is ideal for stressed joints and muscles. Sweat in the Finnish sauna, relax in the Bio sauna, refresh your body and spirit in the spring water shower, before moving to the relaxation room for a short nap.
The access to the wellness area is free of charge for guests.
