The Resort
In the deep south of Sri Lanka, the Chena Huts by Uga Escapes, which opened at the end of 2015, awaits you. Close to Tissamaharama, this fine boutique hotel is surrounded on one side by the Yala National Park, the oldest and second largest nature reserve in the country, and on the other side by an extensive jungle landscape that stretches to the sea.
In the evening, when the sky turns into a deep red for a beautiful sunset, it is the best time to observe elephants at a refreshing dip in the water. Nestled between dunes and trees at night, you might even see sea turtles come to the beach for egg laying or see some flamingos, storks or ibises wading through the water of the saline lake.
The luxury hotel is perfectly integrated into the nature and is ideal for nature-bound guests that don’t want to abstain from comfort. Within the complex, you will experience a true lodge atmosphere with lots of traditional architecture, modern design and high comfort. Enjoy a wonderful view of the ocean as well as exquisite seafood at the fine restaurant of the hotel.
The Chena Huts is your perfect starting point for exciting safaris at Yala National Park, but also the ideal place for rest and relaxation from an exciting round trip through the country.

The 200 sqm pool is a pleasant cooler to the warm weather of Sri Lanka and the sun loungers invite you to linger.
Top of the list of activities is, of course, a visit to Yala National Park. It is the largest and oldest of a chain of six national parks nearby. The park is characterized by its diverse vegetation and its great diversity. More than 44 different mammals live here and there is a high density of leopards. As a guest you can participate in one game drive per day (morning or evening). In addition, the park entry fees, refreshments and transfers to / from the park entrance to the resort are included in the all-inclusive offer.
Apart from Yala National Park, you can still go on whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa. On the edge of the Yala National Park is Kataragama, an ancient forest shrine, which attracts tens of thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims during the festival period from July to August. The Bundala National Park is a true paradise for bird watching thanks to its jungles and wetlands.
Day trips and expeditions to all these sights can be arranged conveniently at the resort.
Client Reviews
