Omaanda (= rhinoceros in Oshivambo) owes its name to its exceptional situation, lying right in the heart of a private animal reserve, the Zannier Reserve by N/a’an ku sê.
Overlooking the boundless Namibian plains, the camp is made up of some ten extremely luxurious round thatched huts whose design is inspired by traditional Ovambo architecture. This ethnic majority group is known for its secular and sober know-how, inspired by and having a deep respect for the natural environment in which it lives.

The eight one-bedroom huts are built in traditional Namibian style, with rounded corners and with a hand-finished thatch roof.

Food and Beverages
The restaurant, set in a welcoming decor, offers a varied and refined cuisine throughout the day, from home-made breakfast to small delicious dishes to share at lunch, as well as food from the grill or game meat on a spit at dinner.
Live cooking simply increases the impression of sharing. And the gastronomic pièce de résistance’ has to be dinner: a delicious four-course meal served at 8pm.
Guests take their place close to the open fire that provides an atmosphere of timeless intimacy, encouraging to return to one’s roots in deep respect for ancestral traditions.

The pool bar welcomes guests from 10 am until 5 pm for a drink, a cocktail or snacks.
The lounge bar serves carefully selected wines and our selection of exclusive spirits in a
relaxed atmosphere. It opens at 5 pm and closes at 11pm.
Numerous excursions and safaris, included in the services offered at the resort, make a change between adventure and rest. Programmes are designed according to the individual desires of the guests and their thirst for adventure. Each excursion offered at Omaanda is a totally unique, distinctive and magical experience, and is realised in partnership with N/a’an ku sê by local and experimented guides.
The SPA has been created to fit harmoniously with the rest of the resort. Its treatments, provided in a traditional hut, are inspired by local Namibian beliefs. Comprising two double treatment rooms, this space is dedicated to care of the body enabling perfect union of body, spirit and soul.
Die zwei Gamedrives pro Tag im eigenen Reserve waren toll. Einziges Manko hier: Das Rerserve wurden ebenfalls gerade erst angelegt (früher eine Farm) und viele Tiere neu angesiedelt. Daher sind die Tiere - im Gegensatz zu den Reservaten in Südafrika - den Umgang mit Menschen nicht gewohnt und sehr scheu. Das ist zwar schön, auf der anderen Seite erschwert es aber auch die Sichtung dieser Tiere. Es sollen aber in den kommenden Monaten noch weitere Tiere angesiedelt werden, weshalb die Chance einen Löwen, Elefanten oder Leoparden zu sichten, weiter steigen sollte.
Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt und sind immer noch geflasht von den drei Tagen. Es war einfach atemberaubend!
