Inspired by a neighbouring organic salt farm, Seasalt Restaurant is set in a traditional Balinese pavilion on a lotus pond. Serving both a contemporary menu and a range of Indonesian and Balinese favourites, Seasalt is also an integral part of the Alila Manggis Cooking School. Elegant and relaxed, the restaurant looks out onto the ocean and the resort’s beautifully landscaped grounds. Guests can also enjoy poolside or garden dining, set beneath the tranquil coconut grove.
Head to the organic garden nearby – a 30-minute cycle ride or a 10-minute car ride – and enjoy a meal of fresh garden produce. Their gardener will talk you through the vegetation in the garden and also introduce you to some of the different methods of irrigation and gardening used. At the outdoor dining Ocean Bale, their Chef will design a menu based on your personal preferences to enjoy at this location, or you can order from the Seasalt Menu. A recommended dish is the Bebek Betutu to share, a slow-cooked local duck in banana leaf speciality.
